                         Michelle Kennedy

                       

                       from Chelsea, Vermont

Michelle Kennedy is an author and the Founding Editor of Organically Inclined, www.organicallyinclined.org, the magazine dedicated to simple living, attachment parenting, frugality and organic farming. She has written 11 books, her most recent being “Gandhi Was A Libra”, a novel about bipolar disorder and the toll it took on one young mother and her family. She is also the author of “Without a Net: Middle Class and Homeless (With Kids) in America,” a memoir of the summer she spent homeless with three of her children.

In addition, she has written nine books on parenting and pregnancy issues.

Her articles and essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Family Circle, FamilyFun, Redbook and many other publications.

Michelle lives on a farm in Chelsea, Vermont with her husband, John Hogan, their five (almost six) children, a few sheep, some chickens and an ornery llama. Please visit her online at www.mishakennedy.com.

                           Julie MacShane

Julie MacShane is currently a magazine editor living in southern New Hampshire with her husband. She received her masters degree in writing and literature from Rivier College, Nashua, NH. She has written articles and stories for quarterlies, monthlies, weeklies, and dailies. She has received three editing awards from the ASBPE. Her two books tell the story of new firefighter Bette Maguire, who in Soot and Sweat on Flesh must battle prejudice to prove herself to her close-knit, all-male team in NH, and then in Torch battle an arsonist who is trying to make her quit the job she loves. The third and final book of the series, On Fire, will be out in late 2007.

                           Archer Mayor

             

                      from Newfane, Vermont

Archer Mayor is the 2004 winner of the New England Booksellers Association/NEBA award for best fiction-the first time a writer of crime literature has been so honored. He is the author of the highly acclaimed, Vermont-based series featuring detective Joe Gunther - now 17 books strong - which the Chicago Tribune describes as "the best police procedurals being written in America." In addition, Mayor is a death investigator for Vermont's Chief Medical Examiner, a deputy for the Windham County Sheriff's Dept, a volunteer firefighter, and the EMT captain of his local rescue squad.

Susan Milord has created many award-winning books for young readers. Her earlier nonfiction works include The Kids' Nature Book, Hands Around the World, and the Tales Alive! series.
