Book 'Em will have live entertainment again this year. Gwynne Wood and Elise Myers each performed at the 6th Annual Book 'Em literacy event and are returning this year. Ms. Wood will sing the National Anthem during the opening ceremony which starts at 9:30AM. Then, Ms Myers will perform between the hours of 10AM to 12PM. Ms. Wood will return to perform again starting at 1PM until 3PM.

Gwynne Wood is a burgeoning artist blessed with pure vocal tone, and chops beyond her years. Her vocal credits include performances with Ash Lawn Opera, Shenanarts, Waynesboro Players, public festivals and charity events, as well as bouncing around the Staunton/Augusta/Nelson music scenes. She often performs with her band mates, The Civilians. The Civilians feature Ben Wood on guitar, and Hugh Scott on upright bass, both seasoned musicians in their own right.

Influenced by a lifelong passion for many genres of music, they offer up alternative pop, rock and country such as Neko Case, Aretha Franklin and Regina Spektor, as well as original music. Constantly adding new material without boundaries, you can expect something familiar and something new, all comfortably connected by a beautiful voice and a youthful psyche that believes, if it sounds good - sing it. Check Facebook or website for video samples and upcoming shows.
