Paul Klein
from Head Waters, Virginia |
After many successful years writing and producing non-theatrical
films, about ten years ago I turned to fiction writing. My first
novel, Accidents of Time and Place,
was published in 2007. It is a story about what makes a hero, in war
and in peace, the what it costs. I have completed a second novel
about fathers and sons, First Person
Imperfect, a collection of short stories and a
collection of essays (Arrivals)
that illustrate my own view of the world. All are in the pipeline,

Taylor LeBaron

from Ball Ground, Georgia |
Cutting Myself in Half:
150 Pounds Lost, One Byte at a Time
presents an original teen-oriented strategy that turns fitness into
a game—a game that has changed its 17-year-old creator’s life
forever. At 14, Taylor LeBaron weighed 297 pounds. He decided to
take responsibility for his own fitness and future, and in a little
more than a year, he literally cut his weight in half. He has
maintained his 145-pound weight for more than two years.
Taylor has shared his fitness strategy on the Today Show, Good
Morning America Health, and dozens of network affiliates and
cable television stations. He’s been interviewed by the Beijing
Evening News, U.K.’s Playstation magazine, Brazil’s
Galileu magazine, and the youth magazine Listen. Taylor
speaks at elementary, middle, and high schools, using his experience
as a 2010 Winter Olympics torchbearer to illustrate that changing
your weight can change your future.
Dr.
Michael Dansinger, nutrition doctor for NBC’s The Biggest Loser,
wrote the foreword for Cutting Myself in
Half, and actor John Schneider (once an obese teen
himself) wrote a promotional blurb. Though the book is written for
teens, many adults have found Taylor’s program effective.
