                          Allen Parker

   

               from Chesterfield, Virginia

Making his third appearance, Allen Parker of Chesterfield, Virginia brings his delightful humor to Book 'Em 2007 carefully wrapped in his famous character, Chester. Devilishly delivered in two books,  A Mouse Among us, and his latest, Nudist Guy and Yankee Gal, Parker takes you on a wild ride through a conservative town trying to survive with a nudist family living among them.

 

                     Cynthia Polansky

  

               from Annapolis, Maryland

Cynthia Polansky began writing professionally at age 35, evidence that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.  She makes her fiction debut with FAR ABOVE RUBIES, based on the true story of a Holocaust survivor who is the aunt of a friend.  Her second novel, REMOTE CONTROL, is a fun and insightful peek into the afterlife, and is due for release in November 2007 from Echelon Press.  

Cynthia also writes nonfiction under the name Cynthia P. Gallagher, and has penned dog breed books on the American Pit Bull Terrier and Boxers, now available at pet supply stores everywhere.  Next year, look for her next dog books on the Bulldog and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

                  Stephen Mark Rainey

Stephen Mark Rainey is author of the novels THE LEBO COVEN, BALAK, DARK SHADOWS: DREAMS OF THE DARK (with Elizabeth Massie), BLUE DEVIL ISLAND, and THE NIGHTMARE FRONTIER; three short story collections; and over 90 published works of short fiction, which may be found in magazines and anthologies such as CEMETERY DANCE, THE BEST OF CEMETERY DANCE, DARK WISDOM, DARK DISCOVERIES, INHUMAN, ROBERT BLOCH'S PSYCHOS, and many others. For ten years, he edited DEATHREALM magazine and has edited the anthologies DEATHREALMS, SONG OF CTHULHU, and EVERMORE (with James Robert Smith). Mark lives in Greensboro, NC, with his wife Peggy.                      Maureen Robb

Maureen Robb is a mystery writer whose debut novel, Patterns in Silicon, introduces San Francisco chef and restaurant owner Lea Sherwood. The book is the first in a series. Maureen, the former editor of a San Francisco newspaper who lived in California for many years, now lives with her family in the Roanoke Valley. She's been interviewed on PBS, NPR, and other radio and television shows. Patterns in Silicon has been nominated for a Library of Virginia Literary Award.
                     Dirk Robertson

            from Edinburgh, Scotland 

Coming all the way from Scotland for the fourth year in a row:

Dirk Robertson is a lecturer in social welfare, professional writer and actor. First thriller Highland T'ing was met with widespread critical and commercial success. His second is Bad Day For A Fat Boy.

He is a former Representative to Parliament for the National Body for Social Work in the United Kingdom, and spent many years working with delinquent adolescents. He is a former Karate international and professional instructor and trained actor, and he taught creative writing and drama in young offenders' institutions.

His screen work includes some of the top stage, film and television productions in the United Kingdom.  

 

                         AJ Rodriguez

                 

                 from LaPlace, Louisiana

AJ Rodriguez is a children's motivational storyteller/author. Through her stories she attempt to motivate children to read more and to create their own stories. Many of her stories teach life lessons and are meant to encourage children to follow their dreams and to instill that they can do anything if they believe they can.

Fighting illiteracy through my "One Angel at a Time" programs is dear to AJ's heart. Her husband and she voluntarily visit schools, festivals and fairies to tell my tales. They pass out angel bookmarks to encourage children to read. They have appeared in Georgia, West Virginia, Florida and Louisiana. This fall they are scheduled to appear in Mississippi, Alabama and in Virginia at the 4th Annual Book 'Em literacy event. All of their visits are funded by monies made by the sale of her books and other related Theodore Da Baere merchandise.

AJ will be signing three Theorore Da Baer books at Book 'Em.

 

                 Charlette Denise Sutton

           

             from Warsaw, North Carolina

Denise is a inspirational poet, author, speaker, and songwriter. Since 2003, she has published two inspirational books of poetry and co-produced several gospel CD's. Her first book, My Words and Me, is a collection of poems on different subjects and her second book, Do You Know Him? is a spiritual guidebook. Denise usually speaks on topics about positive thinking and overcoming obstacles. Currently, she and another author have been sponsoring writing and publishing seminars at local community colleges.                             Tom Tancin

     

                 from Northhampton, PA

Tom Tancin started writing when he was 13 years old after being challenged by his 7th grade English teacher. At 23 years of age, he just completed his sixth novel.  The Man in the Moon, a mystery/thriller novel following Detective Lidnsey Scott as she tracks down a killer obsessed with the moon, will be the first release from Destifire Books.  The book generated a buzz online starting in February 2007 and has received wonderful comments from readers of Tom Tancin's blog on MySpace. 
 
Tom Tancin will be signing copies of his mystery novel The Man in the Moon. The book officially goes on sale on October 26, 2007 but copies will be available for sale and signing at the Book 'Em event.

 

p.m.terrell 



from North Carolina

p.m.terrell is one of the cofounders of Book 'Em. She is the internationally acclaimed author of four suspense novels, one how-to book for writers and four non-fiction computer books. PBS has aired two shows on her books, The China Conspiracy (2004) and Ricochet (2006). PBS host Barbara Berlin heralded Ms. Terrell as the "next John Grisham". The China Conspiracy was nominated for the 2004 Literary Awards by the Library of Virginia, and was also on the recommended reading list of EntreNet, sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University and the Greater Richmond Technology Council. Ricochet has been nominated for two IPPY Awards. Reviewer Julie Failla Earhart placed Ricochet on the Top Ten Books of 2006 and Midwest Book Review said, “Terrell has effortlessly set herself at the top of the ranks of suspense writers.”

Ms. Terrell will be signing another new book at Book 'Em this year: Songbirds are Free (Drake Valley Press) to be released in October 2007.

                       Elizabeth Tidwell
